~~~~~~ On to Napa ~~~~~~
First view of a winery in Napa |
Even though we visited Napa during the winter season and the vines were bare,
I found all the vistas to be amazingly beautiful.
Yes, it was a very good glass of wine! |
Love the Napa Valley Wine Train. This is a must to take on our next trip! http://winetrain.com/ |
Explore Napa Valley by Rail "The Napa Valley Wine Train is one of the most distinctive Napa restaurants, offering an authentic, memorable experience that echoes the glory days of train travel, with fine dining service, multiple course meals, Napa Valley scenery and ultimate relaxation aboard exquisitely restored vintage rail cars. This top dining establishment is housed in a museum quality, antique train that runs on 25-miles of track in the heart of the Napa Valley. The train itself has two engines, three kitchens on board and a collection of early 20th century Pullman rail cars faithfully restored with Honduran mahogany paneling, brass accents, etched glass partitions and plush armchairs that evoke the spirit of luxury rail travel in the early 1900s. Take a trip into the luxurious American past and experience an unparalleled memory-making journey."
~Yup! A Must !!
We drove on to visit and have lunch at Beaulieu Vineyard, Love the Pig and Hawk
sculpture out side their restaurant and the Belfast Clock inside.
I was in heaven. It's such a beautiful winery.
The wine in Napa was wonderful at every winery that we visited.
Reluctantly,
we left Frogs Leap to experience a few more wineries
before days end.
Another Beauty ~ Duckhorn
Unfortunately, it had just closed so we were unable to tour or
have a taste of wine. Another reason to return.
Old Entrance at the Beringer Brothers Winery |
' The Beringer estate provides a unique glimpse into Napa Valley's past. Graced with stately 19th century architecture and verdant gardens, Beringers is not only one of the most beautiful properties in California's wine country, but the longest continues operating winery in Napa, it is also one of the most historic. The entire estate was designated a Historic District on the National Registery of Historic Places.' http://www.beringer.com/property
And the wine was delicious also!
We took the Bay Bridge home.
What's a little traffic when we had a delicious dinner at a wonderful restaurant to look forward to!
