Day Tripping to Pendleton, Oregon, an afternoon at Doubleback and Dinner with friends. 

Of course Cathy and I spent countless hours exploring the many antique stores in Walla Walla 
while John and Woody spent time building a doghouse for Pinto Bean!

Wine Tasting in Walla Walla

Thanks to a truly unique combination of climate, character, charm and culture, 

the Walla Walla Valley has become home to one of the finest wine regions in the nation, 

with more than 100 wineries and 1,800 acres of grapes.

Of course, as soon as I found out that Doubleback, owned by Drew Bledsoe ~
former Patriot Quarterback ~was in Walla Walla we had ourselves a wine tasting afternoon.

Hot Poop, Walla Walla

  It was 30+ years ago today, Sgt. Pepper taught the band to play, President Richard Milhouse Nixon wouldn’t surrender his tapes, the Vietnam war dragged on, John Lennon was alive, nobody died from making love and Walla Walla opened its doors, wallets, purses and checkbooks to Hot Poop.
   What a long strange trip it’s been. Hot Poop has been Walla Walla’s Only Bing-Bang Stereo-Video shop for over 30 years. Starting with a humble inventory of popular albums, 8-tracks and tie-dye shirts,Hot Poop has grown to over twenty times its original size. The inventory, too, has expanded to include both car and home audio equipment along with televisions, DVD players, and stereos at popular prices.

It was a beautiful drive from Seattle, heading over the 
mountains to eastern Washington

The Summit

 The only snow we saw since Albuquerque!
and it only lasted about 15 minutes, followed by beautiful scenery 
and cloud formations on the other side of the mountains

We arrived in Walla Walla to be greeted by 3 critters 

and Cathy & Woody!

Walla Walla is known for the beautiful Victorian homes located throughout the town.  

Cathy and Woody's beautiful home, shown here, is one beautiful example!

On our first full day, the four of us spent hours in the car touring this sweet town which, in 2011, USA Today selected Walla Walla as the friendliest small city in the United States. Here are a few more examples of the beautiful Victorian homes found around Walla Walla.
