February 1, 2015 Arizona: PGA Golf/ PATRIOTS SUPERBOWL

Thanks to Mark, Our home is all decked out!
January 31st:  We drove around the Phoenix area, visiting a car show and a few golf clubs.  Unfortunately , the car show had only one car show up...
Too funny...

So we headed out to visit golf clubs.  We ended up at the PGA Tournament, bought tickets for the last day, Superbowl Sunday, and talk ourselves onto the course to check it out.  I have never seen so many people attending a PGA tournament ~ it was like a Football game and so loud.  I couldn't believe it.  How do they keep the crowd quite during play?    I turns out that there was a tent called the Coors Light Birds Nest Entertainment Tent ~ They were very rowdy!  Lucky that tent was only available on Friday and Saturday.
Huge Rowdy crowd
Sunday, we arrived to a much calmer crowd and we were able to enjoy the play and could see very well.  I was able to take a couple of shoots but only when the players were not in play. I loved every moment of it, sitting at the 1st Tee and then moving to the 10th hole.  John walked the course from the 1st tee to the 10th, watching Matt Kutchar play his game.
Bubba Watson!
The 10th green
One sour note:  That Pleurisy is still following John. He got really bad leg cramps and by the time he hit the 10th green, he could barely walk.  Luckly, a volunteer who was in a cart offered to take us all the way back to the parking lot where our car was parked.  Such a Great Volunteer!!!

So we were back at Debby's in plenty of time to watch the game! (Stock photos below)

January 27-28-29-30, 2015: Airzona:Final Dr; visit/ Chandler/ NFL Exp

January 27th: We said good bye to Jim & Pat and Sedona.  It was a very eventful few days and following our last visit with Dr. Besek, we headed on to the Phoenix area to see Debbie Jackson in Chandler, AZ.

Dr. Beseck is one of only 500 board-certified lipidologists in the U.S... and he specializes in the multidisciplinary branch of medicine that focuses on lipid and lipoprotein metabolism and their associated disorders. An abnormal lipid profile is widely considered to be a leading indicator of heart disease. The treatment of lipid abnormalities is essential in the prevention of coronary artery disease and peripheral arterial disease.                    Thank You Dr. Beseck!!!!

The drive to Chandler was so pretty.

..... and finally ~ the iconic Cactus!
The Saguaro Cactus

Fun facts about the Saguaro Cactus:
This is a very slow growing cactus!  A 10 year old plant might only measure 1.5 inches long
but can grow 40-60 feet tall.  They an live to be
150 to 200 years old!
*Largest Cactus in the United States
*Most of the plants roots are only 4-6 inches deep and radiate out as far as the plant is tall.
*There is one deep root, about 2 feet deep
*after the Saguaro plant dies, the woody ribs can be used for building
*birds can be found nesting in the hole of a deal Saguaro(called 'Saguaro boot') and
* Indians use to use these to carry water before the canteen was invented.

Our first day:  Lunch and gallery hopping around Chandler

Back door view

I woke up to this beautiful sunrise ~ from our room

I love this photo of us!!!  And I absolutely love Debbie's painting behind us!
There is a place saved for it in my home! :-)

Debbie ~ Your paintings speak to me and this particular one reminds me of all

the beautiful mountains we have driven by on our trip.

Debbie gave us two huge bags of oranges from her orange trees around her home  We shared them with people we met in California, Oregan and Washington.  They were so sweet.
Thank you SO much!

January 29th:  Our 43rd Anniversary!
Unfortunately, the Plurisey showed it ugly side and so John did not feel very well these past two days.  We relaxed during the day but did have a lovely anniversary dinner at Pink Pepper Thia with Debbie.

January 30, 2015:  The NFL Experience:  Feeling better, we decided to go to the NFL Experience in downtown Phoenix, expecially since it was easy to get to by train!
