January 1st-4th, 2015: Grand Junction, Colorado

January 3, 2015:Downton Abby Preview

The new year started out with a bang. The girls and I spent time thinking about what we would wear to the Downton Abby preview and we had as much fun dressing up in period clothing as we did attending the preview itself. One part of the fun was going to many of the Grand Junction antique and second hand stores look for jewelry, headpieces and clothes from the early 1900's in England.   I've decided that at least once a year one should play dress-up and have a ball, which we certainly did.

Attendees' dressed up as Downstairs maids, cooks, butlers and Downton Abby family members and all seemed to have a good time. And the season opener was great too!  I am just sorry that Bobby and Lee were not able to join us.

The Downton Abby Preview was held at Allen Unique Autos and we loved having our pictures taken in front of an Antique Chrysler!!!  It was a benefit for Rocky Mountain PBS, Hilltop Community Resources and the United Way of Mesa County and was catered by 'Bin 707', a local Grand Junction restaurant that John and I have not yet been to.  That will change and soon because the food was fabulous ~ expecially the Crispy Brussel Sprouts.

Needless to say, we had a ball!

January 4, 2015: Sunday relaxing

Well, not really.  There is no relaxing on Football Sunday for me, especially when it's a playoff game that includes the Cowboys.  We had a great afternoon at Amelia and Bobby's enjoying the yummy dinner that Bobby made and the 'Boys' won!  Enough said!
